Tuesday, July 28 - Interview: James Hood

James Hood has become addicted to the Hang. He’s a former drummer with The Pretenders and co-creator of the ambient electronic band Moodswings, but he’s unplugged to make a pure, almost, hang drum music. He has a new double CD called Pure Ceremony.

Wednesday, July 29 - New Music

We'll hear recent releases from flute players Sherry Finzer and Mark Holland. We’ll also hear the latest by Erik Wøllo. The Norwegian guitarist has a limited edition CD of spacey melodic electronics called Echotides.

Thursday, July 30 - New Music

Keyboardist Ryan Farish takes a rhythmic, driving approach on a new release called Spectrum. We’ll also hear some retro space music by Broekhuis, Keller and Schonwalder called Green.

Friday, July 31 - Slow Flow Echoes

The Tide is high, the stars shine bright and the sun is rising in this edition of an all-instrumental Slow Flow Echoes. We’ll hear a new release from Chronotope Project, and from the other side of the world, we’ll hear new music from Norway’s Erik Wøllo who has released his second album of the year, a wonderful deep space excursion called Echotides.

Jesse Cook’s One World Echoes August CD of the Month


Nouveau Flamenco guitarist Jesse Cook has been putting out great albums for two decades. The Canadian musician came to renown with his debut album, Tempest, in 1995. At the time he road in on the coattails of Nouveau Flamenco pioneer Ottmar Liebert and bands like The Gipsy Kings, but Cook always had his own sound, one that that morphed and fused over the course of two decades and several albums. He’s taken his flamenco influenced guitar playing into new settings with every album. On One World he goes global and electronica in a studio infused album of journeys from the serene to the ecstatic. He’s joined on one track by guitar master Tommy Emmanuel. One world is the Echoes CD of the Month for August.

It’s an eclectic Echoes Top 25 for July with Heather Woods Broderick’s gorgeous album, Glider, our CD of the month, at the top. Jean-Michel Jarre’s E-Project is also there and that album doesnt even come out until October
