Kristin Hoffmann’s music has been called “Ethereal Renaissance Pop” and she’s been recording it for most of this millennium. She comes into Echoes for an intimate performance of her songs including a rare performance of “Let Go” for just voice and piano.

Trumpeter Jeff Oster has a new CD of ambient jazz called Next. Playing mostly flugelhorn, Oster creates atmospheric, slow motion songs and moves into a bit of lounge funk. From his home in Northern California, Jeff Oster talks about putting together his new album and exploring new directions.

Wednesday, May 20 - The ZMR Awards

ZMR Music Awards are voted on by radio broadcasters who report to the trade website, Zone Music Reporter. They recently had their ceremony and a lot of Echoes artists won awards. Among the victors are Ricky Kej & Wouter Kellerman, Peter Kater & R. Carlos Nakai, Jill Haley, and Jeff Pearce. We’ll survey music from the best of the ZMR Music Awards.

Thursday, May 21 - New Music

We'll hear recent albums by the band called The Weather Station. We’ll also hear new music from Keith Jarrett who celebrates his 70th birthday this year.

Friday, May 22 - Slow Flow Friday

It’s another Slow Flow Friday with some ambient jazz when we dive into Jeff Oster’s new album, Next and A Good Place to Be by Another Fine Day. We’ll also hear from Steve Roach off his May CD of the Month, Skeleton Keys.
